Greenscape pairs beer with trees in unique ‘Brews for Branches’ fundraiser

April 20, 2015

Intuition Ale Works, Aardwolf Brewing Company and Bold City Brewery will host events in April and May to support the nonprofit

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Greenscape of Jacksonville, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching Jacksonville through planting, protecting and promoting trees, invites the Jacksonville community to its inaugural “Brews for Branches” fundraiser, a tree-themed craft beer event series aimed at raising awareness and funds for the organization.

Two local breweries, Intuition Ale Works and Aardwolf Brewing Company, are brewing a limited edition tree-themed beer — christened “Twisted Branch IPA” — and donating a portion of the beer’s proceeds to Greenscape.

The Twisted Branch IPA will be available to patrons at Intuition and Aardwolf beginning April 23, the day after Earth Day, and will be available until supplies last. A Simcoe single hop IPA, the beer will be aged in oak. Greenscape and Intuition will hold a launch event April 23, including a food truck, raffle and an unveiling of the tree-themed beer.

“Who doesn’t like beer and who doesn’t like trees?” said Brad Nestor, Greenscape’s President. “This is a fun and creative way for us to raise the funds necessary to plant thousands of trees across Jacksonville every year. In fact, over the years we’ve added 300,000 trees added to our local canopy. Fundraisers like ‘Brews for Branches’ are critical to those efforts.”
