JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (September 25, 2024) — Reputation Ink account coordinator Kathryn Bracho, along with her former morning news colleagues at WBAY-TV in Green Bay, Wisconsin, has been nominated for a Chicago/Midwest Emmy award. The Action 2 News This Morning team received the nomination in the category of Outstanding Achievement for Morning/Daytime Newscast for their coverage of a ferocious winter storm in January 2024.
During the newscast, Bracho used her communication and ad libbing skills to provide live, in-depth traffic coverage of treacherous driving conditions and numerous crashes — conducting a live interview with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to deliver the most up-to-date information to viewers. Bracho and her colleagues were on the air and streaming news, traffic and severe weather coverage from 4:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. that day.
“I’m honored. This nomination is a wonderful way to cap off a 20-plus-year career in broadcast journalism,” said Bracho. “Wisconsin winter storms are no joke, and I hope our coverage helped people stay safe.”
Bracho joined Reputation Ink in May and assists leading architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) clients with their PR and marketing needs.
“I’m proud of the work I did at WBAY-TV,” says Bracho, “but I love the fact that I’ve been able to carry those skills over to my role with Reputation Ink.”
The Chicago/Midwest Emmy winners will be announced at the 2024 awards ceremony on November 2 in Chicago.
