JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 30, 2024) — Professional services public relations and thought leadership marketing agency Reputation Ink has hired former legal industry journalist and communications professional Raychel Lean as an account manager, effective April 1. She brings with her more than a decade of experience in writing, editing, reporting, marketing, managing teams and overseeing print and online publications.

“Raychel’s extensive journalism background, coupled with her deep knowledge of the legal industry, make her an ideal fit for Reputation Ink and the professional services clients we serve,” said Michelle Calcote King, Reputation Ink’s principal and president. “We are thrilled to add her to our stellar team and look forward to her contributions.”

Lean served for five years as managing editor for American Lawyer Media’s South Florida publication, the Daily Business Review, where she and her team covered law, real estate and business for an audience of legal professionals. More recently, she led communications programs for clients in South Florida’s legal, financial and insurance sectors. She was also the lead editor for a national team of content marketers focused on law firms.

“Having pitched and placed stories with Raychel when she was an editor at the Daily Business Review, I was always impressed by her professionalism and the fact that she understood the needs of PR agencies and their clients,” said Kevin Aschenbrenner, senior director of PR. “I’m excited to now have her as a colleague at Reputation Ink.”

Lean has produced award-winning news and enterprise stories and specializes in legal, real estate and business writing. She has been honored with awards from the Society of Professional Journalists for her coverage of South Florida’s affordable housing crisis and the impacts of climate change on the legal profession and local economy. Her investigations into South Florida’s bankruptcy court and changes to Title IX campus policies were recognized by the Jesse H. Neal Awards, which honors excellence in business-to-business journalism.

“When I saw how Reputation Ink markets itself, I knew I had found the perfect fit,” Lean said. “This is an agency that truly understands the art of storytelling and strategic communication. As a new member of the legal team, I’m excited to partner with leading law firms that are shaping conversations nationally and globally.”
